If you’ve been wondering how to step up your game when pitching and forming working relationships with your donors, then this lesson is for you!
I’ve provided you with tips and suggestions on how you can level up your pitching game. As a crucial member of your nonprofit organization, obtaining funding for your cause is important to you. I get that because I’m the same way. However, it is important for us to treat our donors like human beings and not simply bank transactions.
In order to understand your donors better, it is important to do your research ahead of time. Make it a point to look up the donor’s background, experience, and interests before your meeting. This will allow you to connect with your donor better, and approach the meeting as a partnership rather than just a transaction.
Remember that donors want to help - that’s why they’re willing to meet with you and talk about your cause and the work your nonprofit is doing. So, let them help you by bringing them into your daily workings.
In this lesson, I’ve included four points on how you can really help them understand your work better by including them.
